I was born in Dalton, Ga. And lived there until the age of seven, when my family moved to the north end of Whitfield County. I went to school at Cohutta Elementry, North Whitfield middle and Northwest High School. I graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Textile Engineering. I began my career with West Point Pepperell in 1981, then by the way of acquisition became employed with Shaw Industries, where I have remained.

I was raised in a Christian home and have attended church since I was born. I was saved in our home when I was seven years old, just before we moved to Cohutta / Varnell area, through the direct witness of my older sister. I was lead through the scripture to Jesus by my Grandfather, Rev. John Coe. I was baptized into Varnell Baptist Church, where I have been a continuous member since 1970. I met and married my wife Denise, in this church. We now have two children, Eric & Olivia.

I was ordained as a Deacon in 1986, and continue to serve in that capacity. I am currently an adult Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Youth Leader and Teacher. One interesting thing I learned a few years ago, I knew my mother served as Treasurer of the church, but while looking through some old church records, I discovered that her mother, my Gramda Coe, had served in the same capacity in the 1940’s
